Our new home is ready now. We were the first to see all the work that was being done to the Homewood House here in Steubenville,OH. We decided that we wanted to wait for the work to be completed. This was back in October 2008. The kitchen was the last thing to be done. The old kitchen was torn out and replaced with a laundry area. The new kitchen is a room addition that was added on to the house and designed just for me. I have photos of the house on MySpace here is the link to New house Photo Animation that I put together: Click Here

Thanks & Blessings

Pat Bailey-Steubenville,OH

Steeler Nail Art Photo Animation

My Steelers Nail Art Photo Animation:

Why Was It Important That Dr. Martin Luther King Not Sneeeze

This Is My Granddaughters Essay:
Dashay Mcshan
Steubenville, OH
Garfield Elementary
4th Grade

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was not able do any very heavy breathing, coughing or sneezing on a Saturday afternoon in 1958.
In 1956 Dr. King had great success with the Montgomery bus boycott. During this time Dr. King brought a lot of attention to himself both good and bad. He came in contact with many very famous people during this time, while others were not happy with his success.
On the Saturday afternoon of September 20, 1958 Dr. King was in Harlem, New York, promoting and signing autographs for his first book called “Stride Toward Freedom: The Montgomery Story” in Blumstein’s Department store. The 29yr old Dr. King was surrounded by hundreds of people while he sat in the store signing copies of his book. A lady named Izola Curry that was very sick came to his table and stabbed him in the chest with a 7 inches long letter opener. Dr. King was rushed by ambulance to the hospital with the steel letter opener still in his chest. Many hours later a team of surgeons performed emergency surgery to remove the letter opener.
Dr Aubrey Maynard performed the delicate and dangerous operation in which his whole chest had to be opened. Dr. Maynard is the one that said to Dr. King, if you had sneezed during all those hours of waiting, the razor tip of the letter opener that had been touching his heart would have killed him. Dr. King did not take the incident personally. On September 30, 1958, while still in the hospital he asked that she not be put in jail but be treated in a hospital.

New Tips On "Successfully Managing Stress"

Here is an article from one of my friends on a Ning group that I am a member of:

View my page on My Linking Power Forum

"Successfully Managing Stress" by

Mr. Bill Braylark:<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 64px; height: 64px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_G6OHP7qoQ9E/SV-wWbkV3KI/AAAAAAAAAFU/IyXcLF_o6UA/s320/Mr+Bill+Braylark.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287138386960047266" />

"We all live with STRESS everyday. Do you know how to
become the master of your personal stress load? If you
think you do know, the information below will surely be
of help to all">>>

Stress - Embracing and Conquering It!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 262px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_G6OHP7qoQ9E/SV-rVYsngxI/AAAAAAAAAFM/AWTKvRTGjmU/s320/Stressed+Out.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287132871451443986" />

When one looks up the definition of stress in the dictionary, it tells us:

Stress – noun:

a.) importance or significance attached to a thing; emphasis
b.) physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension

So ultimately, stress is a mental illusion, an interpretation and a perception. What is stressful to one person may be enjoyable to another. Heights might be stressful for one person, while free-falling out of an airplane is exhilarating for another. Public speaking might completely frightening to one person, but be the most empowering activity possible for another. Losing $100,000 in the stock market might be less stressful for one person than having a bad hair day is for another. Stress is a mental perception, chosen by the perceiver.

The level of importance that is placed on the thing is up for question.

Does it really matter?

Is it that important?

Stress is a part of life. Life requires stress. As a muscle needs resistance to grow stronger, so do we. Many times stress awakens our greater potential and makes us rise to the performance we were capable of all along, but we needed challenging. As a muscle needs resistance to grow stronger, so do we.

Below I will give you 6 tips to Embrace Stress:

1.) You shouldn’t MAJOR in MINORS.
Ask yourself: In 20 years, is what’s stressing me out right now, really matter? Will I even remember this? If not, it is minor and adjust your attitude and move forward. Do you remember what you were stressed out about on October 26, 1988? That’s my point exactly!

2.) Life storms come and go.
There will be ups and downs in life; some call them seasons. In the mind of those who understand this concept, Spring is enjoyable and happy. Winter is cold and harsh. Life is like the changing of the seasons. Spring follows winter. How regularly does this happen? EVERY year at the same time. Keep your mind on the spring that is coming as you move through the winter. And besides, you would never see the rainbow if there was no storm!

3.) What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
Know this is the way of growth. The great trials of our lives awaken the greater potential inside of us. Welcome stress and difficulty, as they may be the alarm clock that awakens the greatness that lies sleeping inside. 95% of our country need to listen to this alarm clock.

4.) It always could be worst!
Someone once told me, “A man once complained that he had no shoes, until he met the man that had no feet!” After he met the man with no feet, he realized that being barefooted wasn’t that bad after all. I remember feeling stressed and sorry for myself one time in the past when I initially became an entrepreneur. I turned on the TV and saw images of the way people lived and suffered in Bosnia. I felt pretty guilty about my pitiful “stresses.” Now every time I think I have it bad or am feeling stressed I say, “Well, at least I don’t live in Bosnia – so this isn’t so bad after all.”

5.) Be thankful for what is happening good in your life.
So many times people only focus on what bad is happening in their life. This will keep you depressed! If you are having financial issues, focus on being thankful for your good health and love from your spouse and you can then think clearly enough to create a plan to help you get on off that bad situation. The more time you spend focusing on what you do have and what’s going good, the quicker you start to forget about the challenges your facing and you move closer to LIFE SUCCESS!

6.) Get over yourself!
You are not the only one to experience stress, difficulty, frustration and pain. What happens to you happens to ALL of us. There is no conspiracy against you. We ALL experience hurt, disappointment, heartache, loss, failure, sadness, misfortune, setback, defeat, distress, despondency, despair… or whatever else is causing you stress.

Something I learned from Jim Rohn, one of the greatest philosophers of our time, goes like this, “It is not what happens to you that makes the difference in how your life works out. What happens to you happens to all of us. It’s how you respond to what happens to you that determines the major outcome of your life.”

Below I will give you 5 tips to Conquer Stress:

I.) Break it down.
The problem for most people is they are worried about everything all at the same time. I break what I’m concerned about into time chunks. If I have an important presentation on Tuesday, I schedule time to begin thinking about it on Monday at noon. This way I don’t “stress” about it all weekend long.

II.) Just say NO.
When I was in middle school, McGriff the Crime Dog was a big hit! A person in a giant dog custom would travel from school to school delivering a message to get kids to say no to drugs. I’ll never forget his saying: Just say, “NO!” Today we have more timesaving technologies to make our lives more convenient, yet we are the busiest (and most stressed-out) society in history! Studies show that life for families a hundred years ago was a lot less stressful; when we didn’t have 90 percent of the so-called conveniences we have today. Yes, today we get more stuff done and we collect more things in our garages, closets and attics, but we are not any happier. We are over-obligated and over-scheduled. Take back control of your life by learning to say “NO!”… or at least, “No thank you.” Then go take a walk around the neighborhood and eat you an ice cream – without your cell phone!
LOL!

III.) You can’t correct what you are not willing to confront.
Most everyone spends the majority of their time trying to avoid painful emotions. Here is the irony of that: What you try to avoid expands in its power. Or to put it another way, what you resist, persists.
Another great philosopher, Deepak Chopra said, “Whatever you avoid will come back. The more you avoid, the stronger it will return.”

IV.) End the love affair.
You love the pain of your emotions. How do we know? You keep creating them. You are a creative being. There is nothing in your life you have not created. You are the cause of every effect you are experiencing right now. Frightening, but true. You have either attracted the circumstances that have caused you pain or you have just decided to CALL them painful. Nothing is painful in and of itself. Pain is a result of your thoughts about it. What one calls painful another calls enjoyable. Pain results from a judgment you have made about something. Remove the judgment and the pain disappears. You could decide to have what you call painful to be joyful if you wanted, simply by deciding it to be. You could also stop attracting circumstances in your life that cause you pain, but you don’t. Why? Because you love the feeling!

V.) Work it out!
You need to work it out. No, not meaning job, but exercise the stress out of you. There is a mind-body connection to your health! Just as a cut on your finger will aggravate your mental concentration, so will collecting mental battle wounds and pressures all day drag your body down. You store your mental stress in your body. The only way to get the stress out of your mind is to get it out of your body. Not only does exercise keep you looking good and also not dropping dead of coronary artery disease – but it also is the key to maintaining your energy, and to staying in psychological and mental balance.

Hopefully these tips will give you an opportunity to start embracing and conquering the stress you may encounter in your life! It is guaranteed you will encounter it, now it’s up to you how you handle it and WIN!

If the lack of MONEY happens to be THE source of major stress in your life, then I highly recommend that you go to this site immediately for your help:

http://mylinkingpowerforum.ning.com/forum/topic/show?id=2025411%3AT...

Stay true to thyself,

Mr. Bill :-)
678-768-0848

Pat Bailey
VontriesAromas.com

" Happy New Year " 2009

I found a way to post my animations on my blog.

Learning Web Animation

I am teaching myself Web Animation. It prevents drying of the skin and formation of wrinkles. It reduces degeneration of skin cells, restores flexibility and elasticity. Mango Butter is an exotic butter that is obtained from the kernels of the mango tree that is native to the tropics. It is a soft solid butter, with little to no scent. It is known for its high oxidative ability, wound healing and regenerative properties and UV radiation protective properties. It is also known to be used “as is” in it’s natural state to provide relief from the dryness of eczema and psoriasis.

Dry skin is common, it is often just a temporary problem, but it may be a lifelong concern. It happens more often in the winter when cold air outside and heated air inside cause low humidity. Forced-air furnaces make skin even drier. And although skin is often driest on your hands, arms, lower legs and the sides of your abdomen, this pattern can vary considerably from person to person. What's more, signs and symptoms of dry skin depend on your age, your health status, your locale, the amount of time you spend outdoors, and the cause of the problem.

If you have dry skin, you're likely to experience one or more of the following:
~ A feeling of skin tightness, especially after showering, bathing or swimming
~ Skin that appears shrunken or dehydrated
~ Skin that feels and looks rough rather than smooth
~ Itching that sometimes may be intense
~ Slight to severe flaking, scaling or peeling
~ Fine lines or cracks
~ Redness
~ Deep fissures that may bleed in severe cases

The skin loses moisture and may crack and peel, or become irritated and inflamed. Bathing too frequently, especially with Hot Water or Harsh Soaps, may contribute a great amount to dry skin.
Dry skin is often felt more than it's seen, but on some people it can be noticeable and embarrassing. For many African-Americans, dry skin is a special concern, since the flakes of skin can look gray or "ashy.

We are offering a Super Special December Deal on our ( 4oz )Mango Butter Body Velvet for only $10.00. click here to order Reg. We all have them. No, we can’t make all the bad stuff go away but we can keep it from affecting our clients. Prepare in advance to avoid passing on all that negative energy, and your next bad day may pass without any negative toll on your business. by Erin Snyder Dixon

Your alarm clock didn’t go off this morning, then the freeway ground to a halt, and you had to skip your daily morning coffee. You made it to work but only minutes before your first client. The day is off to a shaky start and getting worse by the minute. Today is not your day! You feel like crawling back in bed — not facing clients with a brave face.
Well, take a deep breath. No, really. Breathe in, and realize that you don’t need to plaster that brave face for the world. You can change the way you feel and send good energy all day long.
The truth is that your clients come to see you for more than nails and professional beauty services. They want an experience. They want an ear to bend. They want you — at your pleasant, well-prepared best. I know, your clients love you, they care about you, and you think they will be able to tell there is something wrong, no matter what you do. There are things we can do to insulate our clients from our negative energy as well as protect ourselves from theirs.
Think of energy like you would electricity. Some things like water or copper conduct electricity better than others. Our personal energy is much the same. It travels through touch, through tone of voice, and through our eyes and ears. Energy is mirrored in people. Ever notice when you commiserate with friends, you just find more reasons to be angry or hurt? So, what do we do to handle all these bad vibes? Practice your techniques ahead of time.

Scent

Pat Bailey, of Legal Hair & Day Spa, in Steubenville, Ohio, spent eight years working in a hospital-based salon. “The majority of my clients were in the psychiatric ward. You had to be conscious of your emotions. That’s when I started using aromatherapy sprays. Lavender, clary sage, chamomile, and musk can all help with stress and anxiety. I started to notice that it helped them as much as it helped me.” She advises nail technicians to spray their area with a light scent that can ease stress. It helped so much that she developed a line of aromatherapy products and makes them available to her clients.

You can click here to read the article on my website under New Releases

Blue Sugar Soap Update

Here are the two photos to compare side by side. The most common classifications of headache pain are tension, cluster, and migraine. Another disturbingly common type of headache is the rebound headache, which appears to be the result of taking prescription or non-prescription pain relievers daily or almost daily. The good news is that there are a growing number of natural alternatives to treat headache pain. Aromatherapy is one of the choices a growing number of people are turning to for effective relief of primary headache pain.

Here is a list of some common Plants and Essential Oils that can be used for headache's :

Basil, Chamomile, Coriander, Cumin, Dill, Lavender, Lemongrass, Lime, Majoram, Peppermint, Rose, Rosemary.

Blue Sugar HandCrafted Soap

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_G6OHP7qoQ9E/SRiqpYC5SxI/AAAAAAAAABw/RLWXZEdwQeU/s320/100_0910.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267147392015747858" />
Here is my first photo of my Blue Sugar Soap on (Day-3).
I made this batch on Saturday 11-08-08.
I removed and cut the log of soap on Sunday 11-09-08
The soap is made with a funnel swirl of blue colored soap and uncolored soap.
The whole batch was scented with Blue Sugar Fragrance. It will bless your heart and make you think. You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it andwanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see, Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?"
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.
You might want to let others read this message, those people who mean something to you (I Just Did.); to those who have touched your life in one way or another; to those who make you smile when you really need it; to those who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down; to those whose friendship you appreciate; to those who are so meaningful in your life.
If you don't share these kind and meaningful words, you will just miss out on the opportunity to Brighten someone's day with this touching thought for the day!
May we all be lucky enough to be COFFEE.

Disregarding Pretense

Love all that appears unloving until it resonates back into the love it was pretending not to be.

Taken From:Ho'oponopono Friends Digest #331 May 10,08

Thank you.
I love you.
Please forgive me.
I'm Sorry.

Watch What You Say!

You will notice that those who speak most of prosperity, have it. Those who speak most of health, have it. Those who speak most of sickness, have it. Those who speak most of poverty, have it. It is Law. It can be no other way... The way you feel is your point of attraction, and so, the Law of Attraction is most understood when you see yourself as a magnet getting more and more of the way you feel. When you feel lonely, you attract more loneliness. When you feel poor, you attract more poverty. When you feel sick, you attract more sickness. When you feel unhappy, you attract more unhappiness. When you feel healthy and vital and alive and prosperous—you attract more of all of those things.
Excerpted from a workshop in “The Law of Attraction, The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham” on Saturday, July 1st, 2006
All Is Well / www.abraham-hicks.com

You Should Love Your Body

How to Love Your Body
Posted on February 18th, 2008 in Weight Loss Tips, Weight Loss Motivation, Relaxing Weight Loss, Weight Loss Strategies, Awareness, Thin Mindset by Jim
Do you love your body?
Most people don’t. As a matter of fact, studies show that a majority of people hate their bodies. Stop for a moment and think about that. What do you think the result of that habitual hate is? Do you think it creates motivation? Do you think it’s a wake up call to change? Or do you think that it perpetuates feelings of depression and failure?
So, why do people hate their bodies? Usually, it’s because they don’t look the way they think they should. But the question that needs to be asked is, what should they look like? What is the “perfect” weight? This is an important point because our ideals that we compare ourselves to are a big problem when it comes to our body images. We live in a culture that is constantly holding up ideals that are not real.
We see a model on a magazine cover and think, “I should look like that.” But what we don’t see is how the model had 5 people doing hair, makeup, and clothes design. We don’t see the perfectly placed lighting and fans. We don’t see the photo editing that removes any “imperfections.” What we finally get is literally a cartoon. Something that is not, and never could be, real. Now, what I just described is ONE PICTURE; now multiply that by 3,000, which is the average number of ads we are exposed to EVERY DAY.
So, what is the result of all this? Sure, we ignore it, but it is so pervasive that these ideas of unreal perfection begin to creep into our collective consciousness as reality. And this is where the problem starts because the balance disappears. Soon we find that we have no representations of people that are “normal” and beautiful. More and more actors and actress we see seem to have had plastic surgery and it becomes the acceptable norm. But it can’t be.
You need to love your own body, and you’re going to start right now because you deserve it. Let’s start simply by talking to yourself (in your head) and say the words “I love you, body.” It probably feels a little weird. That’s a natural response to doing something new.
Now, I want you to love all the things that work perfectly for you. If you’re reading this, then I’m going to assume that your heart is beating, your eyes are seeing, and your lungs are breathing, so start there. “I love you, heart and lungs, for keeping me alive all these years.” “I love you, eyes, for letting me read this incredible article.” And so on.
Now, if you feel silly doing this let me point out something that is really silly. It’s looking at a picture of a model with contacts and saying to yourself “I wish I had eyes that color,” or looking at a body that has been slimmed down with Photoshop and feeling bad because you don’t look like that. That doesn’t make any sense.
Now, back to your body. What about your legs? Never mind the shape of them for a moment, think about them differently and say, “I love you legs for giving me mobility.” How about your hands? Can you say something nice about them?
The purpose of this is to genuinely appreciate and love your body. It’s a way to build up self esteem and focus on what is truly important. You can go through other things you love about your body like hearing, smelling, tasting, being able to dance, sing, type, smile, etc.
Now, what about body weight and shape? You can love your body no matter what the scale says or what size clothes you wear, and at the same time you can also want to slim down. I can tell you from direct experience that the biggest mistake people make in weight loss is that they try motivating themselves by beating themselves up. That will not work for permanent weight loss. If you hate your body there is a good chance that you will unconsciously keep the weight on. You need to begin by loving yourself and your body.
It’s easier to do this when you realize that your goal weight and size are a means to an end. The weight isn’t what’s important; it’s the feelings you’re going to experience at that weight that are important. Will you feel sexier, happier, more confident, healthier? Why do you want change your body? You’ll find that focusing on these feelings is one more tool you can use to motivate yourself. This is also important because you don’t just reach a certain weight where everything instantly changes. It’s a process. If your main motivation is to feel more confident, then begin thinking about ways to feel more confident now. Don’t wait.
Love and hate are very powerful emotions; one is a force for creation and one is a force for destruction. If you want to permanently create a new shape for your body, make sure you choose the force that can make it happen. It makes all the difference in the world.

I'm Back

Hello World

I started this blog 2 years ago.
